Can I take a GMAT practice test for free? That is a good question and the answer is a resounding, “yes.” You can take as many practice tests as you want. When I took the GMAT last year I was determined to get the maximum score possible. I prepared myself for the test and studied daily. It saves a lot of time and money and you can decide if you want to take the GMAT test right away or wait.

There are also free trial periods where you can take the test to see if it’s right for you. I recommend taking the test when it is available because you aren’t obligated to take it all the way to the end if you change your mind. You have nothing to lose and tons to gain.

The biggest draw back to most online GMAT prep courses is they don’t have a live coach. This means you might not get guidance when you really need it. For example, if you run out of time on the section or find a mistake and have to go back. How good is that? That person may not be there to help you if you make a mistake or have a question.

Plus many times these courses cost quite a bit. But think about this. Would you take time off from work and spend two days of studying or do you take time off once a week and devote the same amount of time? Most people would prefer the latter and saving money and time by not having a live coach offers an added benefit. You are in control of your study schedule, not a computer.
