Is GMAT Necessary For MBA In Canada?
Many people do not realize that if they want to get their Masters in Business Administration in Canada, they will be required to have at least some work experience in their field. In other words, the major that they choose to pursue will require them to have at least 1 year of work experience before they are considered for admission to a BBA in Canada. The reason why this is the case is because the GMAT test does not accept scores from undergraduate programs in North America – they only accept scores from post-baccalaureate programs. This means that if you want to enter an accredited BBA program in Canada and you have never taken a college degree test, then you will most likely need to take a GMAT test.
So is getting your MBA in Canada through an online university worth the effort for you? Well, the first thing you should know is that getting into an online university is usually much more difficult than going to a traditional college – especially if you have poor educational results. Traditional colleges tend to accept everyone – even those with very poor academic results. However, many online colleges and universities will only accept matriculation from undergraduate programs, which means that you will need to take the GMAT test in order to get in.
So how are online colleges different? Well, they usually do not have the tuition costs that a traditional university would have. Online colleges that are associated with accredited universities have tuition fees that are comparable to the costs of attending a local university. However, some online Canada colleges do have some room for a room as well – and so some students have actually been able to earn an MBA in addition to attending their online university classes.
Second, while it may seem like it is necessary to take the GMAT test, you could also do well by taking the time to get some related work experience. This is especially true if you have never taken a college class before. Typically, someone who wants to get into an MBA in Canada must first work in the workforce for two years (four if it is an accelerated program) before they even think about applying to a college. So it is important to have some relevant work experience in order to better your chances of being accepted.
Third, you will want to take the GMAT test seriously. Many people fail the GMAT because they do not take the time to learn about it and practice on GMAT practice tests. So make sure that you spend the time to really learn about GMAT, including the different kinds of questions that appear on the test and how they relate to the types of problems that the various colleges might have offered you. In addition, take the time to review all of the coursework that you need to have done for each of the four colleges that you are applying to. These should include not only GMAT but also any other prerequisite courses that you may have taken, and any others that you might need for your particular career goal.
Finally, you should take the time to really consider what a good business administration degree is. The law school at the University of Alberta is one of the top ranked law schools in all of Canada. The Juris Institute is another one of the best business schools in Canada and is ranked number four in the world. You should definitely consider a graduate program in business administration at one of these institutions. Many of the world-class business schools offer a very well-rounded curriculum, including solid liberal arts instruction as well as required courses in science and math. And your undergraduate GPA will matter if you want to succeed in an interview with a prospective employer!
If you have considered all of the above, I have to say that I’m very impressed with you. You have clearly studied and prepared for this important exam.
