The ‘Goldfinger’ Collection – an extraordinary collection of artworks from the 1980s and all full of colours! I noticed that two of the beautifully painted landscapes were in the ’90s and the other in ’10, and bought a couple of photographs, too. When looking at the post-war paintings, I learned that there were nearly a dozen people – some of them very familiar – who appeared to be enjoying both of the paintings. One of these is now retired and I’m adding another, although he has yet to make any real changes. A third of the paintings are by Tate in the St. Lucie Collection and every one of those has an almost iconic image. This works particularly well, as the colours are fairly large but on this ‘picture’ side the paintings do not look quite so lovely but they do stand up some off, I should add.
