When you take a night off, you have to purchase new materials and study material. You’re going to have to purchase study books, mock tests, and even e-books that will help you practice for the GMAT exam. If you don’t have these materials when you’re ready to take the exam, then you’ll have wasted time and money, as well as not being as prepared as you needed to be for the exam.
Make a schedule for when you’ll study, but stick to it. If you’re doing your GMAT night study, then start by going to the library and finding a good GMAT test preparation book. If you’re reading an e-book on your computer, then read the entire book. The more prepared you are when it comes to answering questions on the GMAT, the better you’ll do when you take the real test. Use your study schedule to ensure that you’re giving yourself the best chance possible.
When you have the materials you need, but you still feel extremely tired, then take some extra time and rest before you go to sleep. An hour and a half of undisturbed rest can do wonders for your tired brain and body. Remember to take a cool shower and unwind completely before you go to bed. Getting a solid night’s sleep is extremely important for your chances at passing the GMAT. Once you get to bed, get up about an hour later and practice answering questions.
If you’re feeling really antsy about studying all night, then you might want to consider taking a break every now and again. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a break from studying, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Just remember to pick up where you left off the last time you studied, and don’t go back to the GMAT night study guide. Take a deep breath and try to stay calm. Trying to force yourself to study all night when you’re tired, could result in not passing the GMAT!
If you’re unable to fall asleep within a couple of hours, then you might consider having someone else to study with you. It can also be beneficial to set up a “study buddy” to help you out. Having a friend there watching your night is a great way to relax, and they will be able to provide feedback on your GMAT study speed, which is very helpful when you’re trying to determine where you’re at with your study habits. Just make sure that you’re aware of their presence at all times. After all, there is no point in ruining your chances of success if you’re too conscious about their presence!
Finally, if you have a solid night’s sleep prior to the exam, then you should definitely make the most of it. If you can’t sleep well at night, then take a trip to the pharmacy. They usually have some sleeping medications on hand. These medications will help you fall asleep, thus, giving you more energy during the day. Taking a trip to the pharmacy is definitely a good idea if you’re having a hard time sleeping on the night before the exam!
