Luckily, there are other ways to take a GMAT test before it costs an arm and a leg to take it. You don’t have to spend that much time on taking the GMAT. You can take it online and still get the same results as if you took the paper in a traditional classroom. All you need is a computer with internet access and a GMAT Prep Course.

There are several different kinds of online GMAT Prep Courses out there. Most of them cost a lot less than going to a traditional class and paying for the materials on your own. In fact, there are some free online classes available right now! All you need is access to the internet, time to study, and a little bit of money.

First, pick the right test. Don’t worry about reading passages and trying to remember what they say. The test is designed to test your ability to analyze and synthesize all the information that you are given. Rather than reading, try thinking about the material. That way, you’ll spend more time reviewing the material and figuring out why certain things are important in a particular context. In this way, you will be preparing yourself for the real GMAT test, not just some kind of flash cards you’ve created yourself.

Second, take a little bit of time and really focus on your weaknesses. Don’t worry too much about passing every area. Concentrate on two or three areas, read up on the topics, and figure out how to best attack them. This will help you prepare for the real thing. It will also increase your chances of passing since the GMAT has been known to correlate very well with exam grades.

Third, take the time to prepare for the real exam. This means studying and practicing. Spend a lot of time taking practice tests, writing test questions, answering questions, etc. Just like the other sections, you’ll likely have to do lots of practice tests before you actually take the exam. You might also want to look at practice tests from past years so that you get a feel for the types of questions you’ll face on the exam.

Finally, don’t just expect to do well on the GMAT. You need to take the time to learn the proper way to study. Make sure that you are setting aside a few hours each night for studying. Don’t simply look at the GMAT test as you would a textbook or a class assignment. You need to understand how it works and why you should spend the time to fully understand the questions, how the test is formatted and so forth.
